Good performances on Day 2 of GASA Nationals

Fifty races were swam on day 2 of the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) short course Nationals, and the same form shown by swimmers on Day 1, continued on day 2 yesterday at the National Aquatic Centre.
In the 800 SC metre freestyles, Jadyn George 10:46.00, Leon Seaton 10:26.37, Alex Winter 10:13.56 and veteran Soroya Simmons 10:28.92, won their respective age groups.
Up next was the 100 SC metre butterfly races with Aleka Persaud 1:20.79, Ethan Gonsalves 1:23.94, Lian Winter 1:19.03, Leon Seaton 1:12.27. Also finishing first in the 100 SC meter butterfly were Dorado swimmers Daniel Scott 1:05.35 and Hannibal Gaskin with 57.75.

The top performers on the day were Daniel Scott of Dorado Swim club who hit the wall first in the 15-17 male 100 sc metre butterfly, and the 15-17 200 and the 13-14 200 SC individual medley.
Also having good performances were Kenita Mahaica of Dolphin Swim Club, Aleka Persaud of Orca Swim Club and Leon Seaton of Silver Sharks who all won three races.
Also finishing first in their events were Raekwon Noel, Lian and Alex Winter, Phillip DeNobrega and Jeron Sookram.
The Nationals continue today at the same venue from 9:30hrs.
