A THIRTY-FOUR-year-old miner of Providence, East Bank Demerara, is in police custody after he was found with an unlicensed firearm and 12 rounds of ammunition at “War Lock,” East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Enquiries disclosed that the suspect was standing in his girlfriend’s yard, about 00:30 hrs on Saturday, when a team of policemen, acting on information, swooped down on the location.

In the process, it was alleged that the suspect dropped an object which was retrieved and found to be a 9MM pistol with 12 matching rounds.
