Man in court for bike fraud

THIRTY–six-year-old Andre Richardson of South Ruimveldt appeared on Thursday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on a charge of fraudulent conversion.

Particulars of the allegation are that between March 1 and March 31, 2016 at Georgetown, he, being solely entrusted by Coddet Marshall with one Honda motorbike valued $230,000 fraudulently converted same to his own use and benefit.

Police Prosecutor, Deniro Jones did not object to bail. However he added that only the frame of the bike was recovered. Richardson, unrepresented by an attorney, told the court he had offered the defendant $120,000 but the virtual complainant did not accept the offer. The VC said his bike costs $230,000.

The matter was adjourned to October 21.
