NEW TENDERING PROCEDURE NEEDED

Dear Editor,

THE Election Commission unveiling by the Auditor General is nothing new and a particular officer at GECOM has been at the centre of these irregularities for a while, which has seen traditional stationery and office businesses specialist such as Metro, Kojac, etc., with these quotes being used as a basis for award to preferential supplies such as the Brass Brothers. When the Auditor General is finish he may want to investigate the Governor of the Central Bank preference to Regal Stationery, regardless of any other considerations, and farther afield other Government Departments and their preferred suppliers.
Only a new clearly defined Tendering and Quotation procedure that is available by electronic means to all suppliers and with transparency in the selection of bidders will see the abuse of State funds come to an end.
