THE police, on Friday, arrested two persons in separate incidents in which illegal drugs were confiscated.In the first instance, a male who was under police surveillance was reportedly nabbed with cannabis at
about 17:00h on Friday afternoon.
The suspect was walking with a bag on First Avenue, Bartica when ranks of the Guyana Police Force stopped and searched him, and found in his bag in excess of 28 pounds of compressed cannabis wrapped in several taped parcels.
And an intelligence-led operation in ‘D’ Division resulted in the arrest of another male with narcotics. At about 08:00h, police ranks searched a house at East Meten-Meer-Zorg, WCD and found
229 grams of cocaine and 114 grams of cannabis.
