A BUSINESSWOMAN operating a supermarket at her Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD)residence was shot in the the face by bandits on Wednesday evening while attempting to secure her premises. Police say 56-year-old Gomattie Ramrattan was going about her business as usual when she noticed two masked men scaling the rear fence of the property.Springing into action, she rushed to close the back door so they couldn’t get into the house proper, but one of the bandits saw her and promptly shot her.

But despite her incapacitation, Ramrattan succeeded in securing the premises, thereby leaving the bandits no alternative than to flee empty-handed.
