The body of 14-year-old Malika Hamilton was found Tuesday morning in a trench at Hope, East Coast Demerara.

The Guyana Chronicle understands that the student of Hope Secondary school left her Two Friends Village ECD home on Monday and never returned. Residents in Hope recalled seeing her in the presence of two men on the public road eating biscuits.

Her parents and other family formed a search party and found the young lady’s body in the trench in the vicinity of the Savannah. It is unclear if any marks of violence were found on her body.

Hamilton is the former Queen of the 2015 Ann’s Grove Calabash. She was 2^nd Runner Up at this year’s pageant.
