GUYANA International Lady JAG, Otesha Charles, made an impressive debut for her new side Watford Lady Hornets, netting a treble in a friendly away-fixture against Tottenham Ladies yesterday.Charles came on as a substitute after twenty five minutes and her side down 2-0,and immediately made her presence noticeable with her aggressive moves on goal.
One minute from the interval, Charles made her way into the box and scored from close up to narrow the deficit with her first conversion.
On the resumption, Tottenham stretched the lead further to 3-1, before Charles took centre stage, adding two more within ten minutes, to complete her hat-trick on debut and earning a draw for the Hornets.
In an invited comment, Charles told Chronicle Sport that she was very happy with her debut performance, and is thankful to her new team mates for making her feel welcome.
“I went out there in a positive frame of mind, since it was my intention to give my best, and my new team mates made me feel very much part of the side immediately and that helped.”
“To score a hat-trick on debut for your club is indeed a special feeling, but there is room for improvement”, Charles added. (Ras Wadada)
