Trophy Stall donates to Petra MOH Competition

TROPHY Stall of Bourda Market has once again shown its dedication to sport in Guyana with a contribution to the Petra MOH football competition on Friday at its South Road and Bourda Street location.
Present at the handing-over on Friday was Petra Co Director Troy Mendonca, who thanked Trophy Stall for the donations, while adding that he was happy to have Trophy Stall on board, since it contributes to the tournament’s success.
The donations were inclusive of the Most Valuable Player Trophy as well as the Championship Trophy.
Making the donation was Devi Sunich, who made the presentation on behalf of Managing-Director Ramesh Sunich.
Football action continued yesterday at the Ministry of Health ground, on Brickdam and Vlissingen Road, with the final group fixtures. In the opening fixture at 19:00hrs, Broad Street tackled the Ministry of Public Health, while Albouystown took on Young Ballers at 19:45hrs.

 

In the third fixture at 20:30hrs, West Front Road took on Queen Street Tigerbay, while Bent Street went up against Kitty Weavers at 21:15hrs.

The fifth fixture at 21:45hrs saw Alexander Village facing off with Leopold Street, while defending champ Sparta Boss took on Sophia at 22:30hrs.

The championship was slated to conclude last night with play in the group stage.

 

Upon conclusion of the group stage, the top two finishers from each group along with the four best third-placed finishers will advance to the knockout round.

Winner of the event will collect $300,000 and the championship trophy, while the second-placed side will receive $200,000 and the runners-up trophy.

On the other hand, the third-placed side will receive $100,000 and the respective trophy, while the fourth-placed finishers will take home $50,000 and that title.

On the individual side, prizes will be awarded to the event’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Highest Goal Scorer. Other sponsors of the event include the Ministry of Public Health, GTT, Lucky Dollar, Nigel’s Supermarket, Junior’s Jewellery, Star Party Rentals and 2-J’s General Store.
