SEENAUTH Persaud, 53, of Suraj Drive, Triumph, East Coast Demerara on Thursday perished in an accident while walking along the Triumph Railway Embankment.The police in a statement said an investigation into the accident has revealed that the driver of motor car PKK 2320 was proceeding west along the southern side of the road, when the pedestrian allegedly crossed the road from south to north into the path of the vehicle.

He was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he died while receiving medical attention.

The body is at the GPHC Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.

The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
