PRIME Minister, Moses Nagamootoo hosted a visit of the Prime Minister’s official residence on Main Street, which is a Heritage building, for the visiting World Monuments Fund delegation.Prime Minister, Wednesday morning, gave the team a personal tour of his residence.
Norma Barbacci, Director of Programs for Latin America, Spain and Portugal- World Monuments Fund, commended the government for the interest it has shown in preserving heritage buildings, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) stated.
According to OPM, Barbacci expressed thanks to the Prime Minister for hosting the team, while noting that they have visited several countries around the world and are not often afforded the opportunity to visit a Prime Minister’s residence.
The World Monuments Fund delegation included: Dr Eduardo Rojas, Lecturer – University of Pennsylvania; Frank Sanchis, Program Director – World Monuments Fund; the Lord Donald Hankey, International Heritage Architect, Conservation and Cultural Planning Specialist – Gilmore Hankey Kirke Consulting Limited; Morris Hylton III, Director of Historic Preservation Program, College of Design, Construction and Planning – University of Florida; Liam O’Hanlon, Structural Engineer and Principal – RSE Associates Inc; Ron Anthony, President and Wood Scientist – Anthony and Associates Inc and Professor William Dupont, Directs the Centre for Cultural Sustainability – University of Texas.
