E-Networks fulfils promise to RSTC’s Health Walk and Fitness Run

E-NETWORKS has made good on its promise to part-sponsor the Rising Star Track Club’s (RSTC)/Office of the President Health and Fitness Walk as well as 5K and 10K runs scheduled for May 22 around the D’Urban Park outer circuit.Yesterday, the company (E-Networks) handed over the sponsorship to former national track athlete Lorrie Ann Adams at the company’s Camp Street office in the presence of the organising committee member Avril Black.
According to the organisers, the activity is being staged in recognition of Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations and all aspects of the event will start at Square of the Revolution.
There will be a 5K health walk for all age groups and gender and is open to sports associations, clubs and anyone who wants to be a part of it.
There will be a 5K run as well as a 10K run and all interested persons are invited to take part especially athletics clubs throughout Guyana.
The route for the walk as well as the 5K and 10k runs is: start in front of the 1763 Monument, move south to Hadfield Street east up Hadfield Street, North on Mandela Avenue, west down Homestretch Avenue to finish at the place of origin.
To date the organisers have received pledges of support from a number of local businesses including the following Banks DIH Limited, GTT, Real Value, BK International Inc, Star Party Rentals, S&L Electrical, Toucan Industries, Antarctic Maintenance, Payless Variety Store, Bran’s Security, Kevin Jeffrey, Ming’s Products and Services, Corona Beer and Cummings Electrical.
Already on board are; E-Networks, Wartsila, Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs and Office of the President.
Interested persons can register their names at the Michael Parris Gym in the National Park, at E-Networks or Fitness Express on Sheriff Street.
