NARINE Sewnauth called “Naipaul” of Lot 308 Bloomfield Village, Corentyne, Berbice died on Sunday after he was allegedly chopped in the head by his stepson during an agreement over music.The 46-year-old man was with friends and other relatives at his home imbibing at the time of the incident.

According to reports, around 14:20 hrs, an argument between Sewnauth and his stepson Bisram Ramnauth escalated, and in a fit of rage, the latter reportedly when in the kitchen, collected a cutlass and chopped the former to the head.

An eyewitness told the Guyana Chronicle that the argument started after both wanted to listen to different music at different volumes.

Sewnauth was rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect has been arrested and charges are expected to be laid shortly.
