RELEASE De Beast chalked up another victory this season, this time before a packed Bush Lot United Turf Club on Sunday during the Labour Day Classic one-day horse race meeting.Ridden by Colin Ross, the animal was in exceptional form, toying with its rivals before beating them handsomely in the D and Lower event.
The Jumbo Jet Racing stable took away the coveted $800 000 first prize for the 1400 metres race. Climate Change, Keep on Swinging and Settling Star finished second, third and fourth respectively.
Meanwhile, Isn’t She Charming, ridden by champion jockey Randolph Richmond, won the co-feature Three year-old Guyana- and West Indies-bred, 1400 metres race ahead of She’s In Control and Happy Dancer. The win was worth $350 000.
Amazon Warriors ran away with the L1 and Lower event and the $150 000 first prize from Confusion, Mystery Man and Blue Lightning.
The race for H2 and Lower horses was won by She’s So Special ($250 000), ahead of Liquid Lion, Maryann and Fresh Again while Massaapquea DR ($200 000) won the J and K event from Little, Affinity and Red Region.
The F3 and Lower event was not staged. The Jumbo Jet racing stable won the Champion Stable award after winning four of the five races.
