According to Police reports, around 14:15 hrs, the car PSS 9432, was proceeding south (to Linden) when Adams swerved to avoid hitting a child crossing the road. As a result of this, he lost control of the vehicle and toppled several times. One eye witness revealed that the vehicle toppled about seven times before coming to a halt. The excess water on the road as a result of the continuous rain fall was also deemed responsible for Adams being unable to control the car.

Adams had rented the car from his friend.

A relative of the decease told the media that Adams was carrying his son to complete a school assignment when he decided to take them for a drive up the highway. After reaching Silver Hill, he decided to return to Linden.

“They reach as far as Silver Hill and they decide to turn back and is Bamia the thing happen,” the woman related adding that she rushed to the hospital after hearing about the tragedy. Several relatives stormed the Emergency Room after learning that the two boys had been admitted.

His wife, Melanie Adams, was at the time on the East Coast of Demerara. It was her birthday yesterday.

Rawl Adams was an employee of Bosai acting in the capacity of Security Constable and was on duty only last night. He is said to be a sports fanatic who played cricket and football. He was a former coach of TOP 20 Football team. Relatives and neighbours described him as a very loving and generous person who was family oriented.
