A FAMILY of nine of Tucville, Georgetown was left looking for a place to live after their house was gutted by a fire that struck on Monday evening. It is unclear what caused the fire, but eyewitnesses said it started in one of the two bedrooms in the house. Nine persons, including seven children, were left homeless.

The house was said to be occupied by the children of the late Donna Mc Kinnon, whose body was found next to Freedom House, the PPP Headquarters, a few years ago.

No one was reportedly injured, and an elderly man was among those rescued from the building.

Firefighters were praised by neighbours for containing the fire.
