Defending champions leading Guyana for CMRC opener

DEFENDING Group four champion Kristian Jeffrey and the youngest Caribbean motorcycle champion Elliot Vieira will spearhead Team Guyana at the opening Round of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC) next month.The two-time, defending Group four champion Jeffrey will suit up to try for his third championship in as many years since debuting and will have the experience and guidance of his father Kevin alongside him.
Danny Persaud will also be on that team to Jamaica while Andrew King returns to the fold of the Caribbean Championship after missing out.
Group four will not be short of competition as newcomer Mohan Rangasammy has confirmed that he will make the trip following an extraordinary showing at the first local race meet in March.
Both Rangasammy and Persaud will also represent Guyana in Group three along with Rameez Mohammed and Nazim Gaffoor while the latter two will race in Group two as well.
On the super-stock end of things, Elliot Vieira will lead the charge to Jamwest while his cousin Stephen will also be on that team.
The other two riders are Paul Yearwood and Leroy Cort, according to the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC).
Meanwhile the race is on for those drivers and riders to get their machines in order as loading date for the vehicles is on April 29.
The first leg of the CMRC will take place from May 20 to 22, at the Jamwest Raceway in Jamaica.
