Fifty – eight – year old Gowchand Budhu was pronounced dead on arrival at the Port Mourant Hospital Sunday night following an armed robbery at their Albion, Corentyne house.

According to a police report, at about 20:50 hrs, 54 – year – old Parbatie Budhu was about to enter her home when she was confronted by two men armed with firearms.

The Guyana Chronicle understands that the men took her into the house and began assaulting her, during which her husband intervened and was shot to his body after which the perpetrators escaped.

The woman has been admitted to hospital and investigations are in progress.
