Judge inspects Guard-of-Honour

JUSTICE Jo-Ann Barlow yesterday inspected the Guard-of-Honour. It was one of the acts to mark the occasion of the opening of the April Criminal Session in Demerara.The judge also took the salute during the march-past of the traditional ceremonial parade, which comprised the Police Band and 60 ranks of the Tactical Services Unit.

Justice Barlow, one of the three judges assigned to cover 153 cases for the session later empanelled a 12-member jury to commence the case of Dhupaul Singh called ‘Tailor’ for the murder of Balkissoon called ‘Balkie’ at Helena No. 2, Mahaica, on September 2, 2014.

This morning the Prosecutor will deliver the opening address to the jury on behalf of the prosecution. Thereafter, he will call witnesses who will testify on behalf of the prosecution.
