MACORP has announced the signing of an equipment deal with AGM, a subsidiary of Guyana Goldfields Inc. (GGI), for the procurement of eleven units of Caterpillar mining equipment to the mining company located in Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Essequibo.According to a statement by MACORP, the deal symbolizes the expansion of business relationships between the companies and acts as a major contributor to the strengthening of the country’s economy by bringing growth and innovation of modern technology and presenting new employment opportunities for Guyanese.
MACORP said the deal was finalized recently for the supply of six 745C articulated trucks, two 390F Hydraulic Excavators, two 326D2 L Hydraulic Excavators and one 336D2 L XE Hydraulic Excavator, all Caterpillar brands which were well equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
The equipment are customized with Product Link, part of the Vision Link system, and will maximize time and reduce owning and operating costs through sophisticated and timely information on its location, utilization and condition.
“The machinery is well-equipped with state of the art technology. The 336D2 L XE has the hydraulic hybrid technology which is the latest example of such an innovative product in the world. The “XE” on Caterpillar equipment stand for the most technologically advanced, fuel-efficient machine capable of reducing fuel consumption by up to 20% for high efficiency work in all application and material types.”
Additionally, “the 745C articulated truck has many updated and improved features such as a new power train and ease of operation features over the out of production 740B Articulated Truck. The 326D2 L Caterpillar Hydraulic Excavator incorporates innovations to improve efficiency by reducing fuel consumption by 13% for excellent performance, high versatility, and the 390F Caterpillar Hydraulic Excavator is built to keep production numbers up with a C15 ACERT engine for fuel efficiency, and reliability to succeed,” MACORP explained.
MACORP and GGI had successfully made contractual agreements for purchasing of new equipment and the utilization of rental equipment during the construction phase of AGM and the early mining phase, previously.
