Dear Editor,

WHICHEVER party has won the last General Election — in this case the APNU-AFC coalition — must be allowed to govern. To be brief, let me say that in some small communities in the hinterland, certain PPP politicians still behave as if their party is still in power. What nonsense!Imagine a situation in which the toshao has been taking instructions from a previous leader, and so on. The only alternative was to ask the new Government to intervene; and thanks must go out to everyone who supported the move.

Thanks to the official who travelled all the way from Georgetown, who did a splendid job and put to rest the notion that the PPP is still in charge. He got the people to understand that we are in a new dispensation and we must not be fooled by a few who don’t seem to understand that their days are over.

Thanks again for the visit from a well trained and experienced official. We, the residents of the village, are now hopeful, yes thankful, that we can now breathe a sigh of relief.
