Took cannabis for his asthma

A MINI-BUS driver was Wednesday ordered to complete 30 hours of community service by City Magistrate Alex Moore after he admitted to the charge of possession of narcotics. Leon Kite pleaded not guilty to the charge which read that on March 8, 2016 in Georgetown he had in his possession three grams of cannabis.
Kite told the court that he used the drug to assist him with his asthmatic attacks.
When making his ruling on the matter the magistrate took into consideration the fact that the defendant did not waste the court’s time. He had pleaded guilty to the charge and the fact that he had only a small amount in his possession went in his favour.
He was ordered to complete his community service with the Georgetown Mayor and City Council.
Kite has to return to court for a report.
