THE GUYANA Foundation announced the appointment of Mr. O’Neil Outar as a Special Adviser to its Board of Trustees. Born in New Amsterdam, Guyana, Outar is currently the Senior Associate Dean and Director of Development for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. In his position with the Guyana Foundation, he will be responsible for advising and facilitating approaches to international fund-raising, as well as networking with like-minded global organizations and individuals who are able to provide skills training in a variety of fields to meet the needs in the country.
According to Founder of the Guyana Foundation, Mrs. Supriya Singh-Bodden, C.C.H., “Mr. Outar brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that makes him invaluable to the Guyana Foundation team.
His accomplishments over the years are impressive, and the Foundation is very delighted that he has accepted its invitation to be a Special Adviser to its Board. We look forward to his technical guidance, support and advice as we continue our work to bring relief to people in need across Guyana.”
As the chief development officer for Harvard’s largest academic unit Outar sets the strategic direction of all fund-raising activity for the $2.5 billion Campaign for Arts and Sciences within the $6.5 billion Harvard Campaign. “I am honored to be joining the Guyana Foundation as a Special Advisor and to have the opportunity to give back to the people of Guyana in a meaningful way.
