THE University of Guyana (UG) Wolves are looking to take a commanding lead atop the Guyana Telephone Telegraph (GTT) /Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) 15s League when matches continue today.UG are leading the tournament with 17 points, while Caribs are in second position on 14 points.
When the two teams met in the first round of the league, the Yamaha Caribs came out victories after the dust settled.
However, the Wolves are on the prowl and eager to reverse their fortunes.
UG’s lead on the points table comes as a result of an outstanding performance over Police Falcons last Saturday when they won 99-0. In the other game of the day, the Pepsi Hornets went down to Yamaha Caribs 14-12.
Matches will be played at the National Park Rugby Field starting at 16:00hrs.
Meanwhile, under the newly amended constitution governing rugby, the Guyana Rugby Union will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, February 28th 2016. The meeting would see election of new officer-bearers for the Union along with other matters.
The AGM will be held at the National Resource Centre in Woolford Avenue from 11:00hrs. The clubs eligible to vote at the AGM are Yamaha Caribs, Pepsi Hornets, GDF, UG Wolves and the Police Falcons.
