FOLLOWING the tremendous success in its inaugural year 2013, Raj Singh Insurance Brokers has renewed its sponsorship for the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) T20 tournament for 2016.This competition will be played between eight teams drawn from East Coast Demerara, West Coast Demerara, Georgetown and East Bank Demerara.
Each area will field two teams similar to the 2013 version of the competition.
Each team will play each other in the preliminary rounds for a total of 28 matches, to be played every Friday afternoon commencing February 26.
The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals with the winners contesting the final.
Teams can earn bonus points for winning their games by a large margin of runs or for taking few wickets.
Other exciting rules mandate that each team must use a minimum of seven bowlers with no bowler delivering more than three overs per game.
These games will not have the usual T20 fielding restrictions, but standard cricket rules and conditions will apply.
The teams scheduled to participate are: East Coast Tigers, East Coast Bulls, Georgetown Bears, Georgetown Buffaloes, West Demerara Mavericks, West Demerara Seals, East Bank Lions, and East Bank Colts.
