Poisonous response

FOLLOWING the viral status of a video featuring a man verbally assaulting a traffic police officer, the man in the video has reported to have ingested poison and is reported to have succumbed last evening. The man’s family members have claimed that the negative responses by persons on social media led him to the act.Smile a while
At a time when there was very little to smile about, former Minister of Public Service under the PPP, Jennifer Westford and her former Personnel Officer Margaret Cummings chose the poker face after being released on $4.3 million bail each for 24 charges of allegedly stealing government money. This was inarguably the most popular topic of the day as the public took to Facebook to express their disappointment.
Though the actual trial has not yet commenced, many feel they should not have received any bail whatsoever, stating that “only in Guyana” do the powerful get off so easily. At the end of the day, both women were dressed to the nines for their court hearing. Westford for one looked especially cheerful in most photos captured of her.
For people who have been charged for stealing $639 million and who could be facing real prison time if found guilty, I’d say this was a very light-hearted response to things. Let’s see how this unfolds.
