UNITED States Ambassador to Guyana, Perry Holloway, on Friday met with Minister of Social Cohesion, Amna Ally, to explore areas for partnership. The meeting was held at Ally’s Ministry of the Presidency office, and was the first official one between the two.

Ambassador Holloway said he wanted the opportunity to meet Minister Ally formally and to extend his support to her ministry and projects.

“The issue of social cohesion and inclusion is important to us, just as it is important to this Government and to the people of Guyana; but the meeting was more to find out what her priorities are, and in what ways the US Government and the Ministry can cooperate going forward,” the US diplomat said.

Minister Ally has said she looks forward to working with the US Embassy and the ambassador, according to a Ministry of the Presidency statement.
