MING’S Products and Services Ltd renewed its sponsorship of Yamaha Caribs Rugby Club by donating a set of new uniforms, during a simple ceremony that was conducted recently, at the Company’s head office on Urquhart Street in Kingston. At the occasion, Technical Director of the company, Colin Ming, disclosed that the association with the club commenced in 1992 after being approached by Christopher ‘Kit’ Nascimento, who had asked the company to assist the club and the relationship has remained strong until now.
The Caribs, once one of the best teams in the country, has been plagued by migration and other negative circumstances that have evidently affected its dominance on the local scene, but executive member Walter George said that the club will be making a concerted effort to regain the lofty status it held in the past.
Ming urged captain of the team, Akeem Fraser, to do all in his power to return the club to some semblance of success in 2016.
George, in his comments, thanked the company for its continued support over the years, adding that from his little knowledge about the entity’s activities, he knows that many athletes and sports bodies have consistently benefited from its goodwill.
They (Ming’s) have given assistance to individual athletes and organisations and have not restricted their support to a few disciplines, but all those whom they feel merit their assistance.
George, a former national player now retired, wished the company well in its business endeavours and urged persons and other businesses to support the entity.
Among other persons present were Director John Chin, Finance Director Audrey Ford and Yamaha Caribs’ Robin Roberts.
