NATIONAL opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul warmed up for the resumption of the WICB’s Professional Cricket League (PCL) four-day tournament with a superb double-hundred to guide Everest Cricket Club (ECC) to an innings and 47 runs win against Police Sport Club (PSC) in the latest round of the GCA’s Trophy Stall, Gise/Star Party Rentals two-day first division Cricket tournament.
Chanderpaul slammed an unbeaten 205, with 14 fours to guide ECC to a huge first-innings total of 441-6 declared.
Amir Khan (86), Akshaya Persaud (64) and Chanderpaul Hemraj (57), all contributed to the total.
Needing 233 to make ECC bat again, PSC were bowled out for 186. Hemraj took 5-43 with his left-arm spin.
Scores: (PSC 208 & 186, ECC441-6 declared).
Meanwhile, DCC defeated GYO by an innings and 87 runs.
Scores: (DCC 362-8 declared, GYO 132 & 143)
GDF beat TSC by 110 runs.
Scores: (GDF 190 & 207-8 declared, TSC 128 & 159).
Malteenoes registered first-innings points from GNIC.
Scores: GNIC 118 & 264-8, Malteenoes 213).
