TWENTY-ONE-YEAR old mason Keri Dick was placed on $15,000 bail yesterday by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for the offence of smoking cannabis and escaping from lawful custody.Dick, of 15 Pike Street, Sophia, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which alleged that on November 17, 2015 in Georgetown, he smoked cannabis. He also denied that on November 18, after being arrested and placed at Alberttown Police Station, he escaped.
Police prosecutor Deniro Jones made no objection to bail, but explained that, while in police custody, the accused ‘picked’ his handcuffs and escaped.
Chief Magistrate granted bail and ordered him to return to court on January 26 to Court 10, where the matter would be heard by City Magistrate Alex Moore.
