GPHC records 5 births on New Year’s Day

AS Guyana joined the rest of the world in ushering in 2016, doctors and nurses at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) were busy gearing up for the new arrivals. In the end, five beautiful babies were successfully delivered at the city hospital on New Year’s Day.

Thirty-two-year-old Shenise Williamson delivered the fifth and last New Year baby at GPHC for 2016. The baby girl was delivered at 3:00h and will now take up residence with her mommy at Lot 167 Vigilance North, East Coast Demerara.

At just about 12:16h, 23-year-old Seata O’Donoghue of Lot A72 East La Penitence, Georgetown delivered a baby girl, who was recorded as the first birth at the hospital for the year. Hours after her delivery, the 23-year-old mother was presented with a baby bag and hamper by the medical personnel attached to the Maternity Ward at GPHC.

At 01:25h on Friday, January 1, 2016, Vanessa Isaacs delivered this handsome baby boy. This 20-year-old mother who hails from Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara was all smiles when Guyana Chronicle visited the hospital on Friday morning, as her little prince was resting peacefully in her hands. The fourth baby was born to Shemika Williams at 01:55h. Williams and family are now celebrating the birth of her son.
At 01:25h on Friday, January 1, 2016, Vanessa Isaacs delivered this handsome baby boy. This 20-year-old mother who hails from Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara was all smiles when Guyana Chronicle visited the hospital on Friday morning, as her little prince was resting peacefully in her hands.
