Corriverton residents form CPG

BUSINESS owners and other residents of Corriverton in Upper Corentyne, East Berbice, have collaborated with the Guyana Police Force to form the Springlands/Corriverton Berbice Community Policing Group (CPG) to fight crime and make their neighbourhood a safe place.The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant, Gobin Harbhajan, was invited to address the first meeting, which was attended by Assistant Commander of the ‘B’ Division, Officer L. Watts; head of the country’s Community Policing Group (CPG), Mr. Dennis Pompey; CPG District Chairman, Mr. Abdool Nisar; & Liaison Officer Ms. Radika Ramanandan.

The appointments in this new CPG are as follows: Samuel Garnett – Chairman; Azeem Immamdeen – Vice Chairman; Aubrey Greaves – Secretary; Shameer Alfred – Treasurer; and other members.

In brief remarks, Harbhajan applauded members of the community for their efforts at crime prevention.
