Fined, placed on bail

A 28-year-old customer service representative of Qualfon was yesterday fined and placed on bail after he appeared before city magistrate Faith Mc Gusty to answer several charges.Kevin Smith of 26 Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara pleaded guilty to the charge of abusive language towards Francina Chase, He was fined $10,000 on that charge.
He was also charged with damaging the car window of Ms. Chase, and the unlawful assault of Ms. Chase and Tamika Thomas. He said he was not guilty and was placed on $40,000 bail.
Twenty- five year old Francina Chase of North Road, La Penitence also appeared before magistrate Mc Gusty to answer to the charge of abusive language and threating language towards Kevin Smith, which also occurred on the said date. She pleaded not guilty and was placed on bail of the sum of $20,000.
The two are expected to return to court on January 11, 2016.
