ON a cold, wet night, more suited to the likeness of a refreshing Guinness, Sparta Boss snatched the Georgetown zone Guinness Greatest In Da Street title with a 1 – 0 victory over Channel-9 Warriors at the National Park Tarmac. The painful loss for Channel-9 meant that Sparta Boss went home $500 000 richer, while Channel-9 had to settle for the runner-up purse of $250 000. However, Channel-9 still have a chance to top their rivals when the two teams represent Georgetown in the national championships next year.

On Saturday night, Sheldon Shepherd was the hero with the 20th-minute strike which decided the outcome of the match.
He had the support of Devon Millington, who upped their attack, but Warriors were on point and rose to every challenge.
The eventful see-saw battle saw slips, slides, skips and misses until the spring broke, when Shepherd was presented with the opportunity to score and capitalised. Maintaining the upper hand was another task, but Sparta conquered it when the regulation- time whistle came.
The nail-biting showdown was witnessed by a few hundred supporters that were treated to a musical rendition by Jamaican Dancehall Artiste, ‘Konshens,’ who kept the crowd amped for the finale.
Prior to the finals, North Ruimveldt stunned Back Circle with a 2 – 1 defeat to claim third place and pocket $125 000, while Back Circle’s effort got them $75 000.
North Ruimveldt seemed the better-oiled machine on the night, even though a wealth of aggression was presented by the former champs.
However, with equally experienced opponents, the side with fewer mistakes during the match emerged victors. Travis “Zorro” Grant gave his side the lead when he slotted home in the 13th minute.
The one- possession game continued into half- time and when the action resumed, North scored once again to pile on even more pressure.
Orin Massiah’s 22nd-minute goal was the icing on the cake, even though Andy Duke, Back Circle’s MVP, produced a consolation goal in three minutes; finding an equaliser proved too large a load.
