THE Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GTT) has on Wednesday confirmed Justin Nedd, its former Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), him having acted in that position since June this year. A GTT statement said the board believes Nedd “has proven his ability to lead GTT in an exciting new direction for the company’s customers and employees”.
The statement said: “Together with a fantastic executive team of Chief Technical Officer Russell Davis and Chief Commercial Officer Gert Post, Justin is steering a strong path for the company – new services and even better value plans; new and advanced network investments; new capabilities to further improve customer service, and an exciting new brand proposition to continually Do More for the company’s customers.”
The company described Nedd as having “the right balance of relentless customer focus, exceptional vigour, and the infectious optimism required to lead GTT in delivering the best and most compelling communications services in Guyana.”
Nedd reacted that his confirmation was “a true honour to be entrusted with the leadership of such an important company in Guyana, and at such an exciting time. We have made a brand promise to our customers and to the country to “Do More”, and we are doing so every day. From our upgrades, to new blazing-fast Internet speeds earlier this year, to our new-look retail store opening at the Giftland Mall in the past weeks, GTT is a company that is on the move. The best is yet to come!”
The newly-appointed CEO has promised that 2016 will be another year of exciting new offers and capabilities that will see GTT being further established as “the best provider of wireless, broadband, home voice and other services in Guyana.”
“We are also optimistic in our belief that 2016 will be the year that market players are provided the spectrum required, to offer advanced wireless services on par with the other countries in the region. We can’t wait to bring these capabilities to our customers,” Nedd said.
