Better must come!
I look forward to the rebranding of the Guyana Chronicle to make it a national newspaper, not mere changing the mast head, but the content as well. For too long the Chronicle responded to the narrow agendas that made it a partisan political propaganda broadsheet. This must change and better must come!
With a new look, it is hoped that the Chronicle attracts not only a wide readership but new readers, who want to see their diverse interests represented in both the daily and Sunday editions.
This State-owned newspaper must reflect and promote the interest of all its shareholders, as all businesses do generally.
But to do so, it must pursue not a partisan interest, but the national interest.
I wish the Board and editorial staff all the best in this new effort to make Chronicle better.
