PNCR expanding its North American outreach

THE North American Region (NAR) of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) held its 4th Biennial Conference on the weekend of 6th – 8th November, 2015 in Miami, Florida. The Conference was held under the theme, ‘Keeping Our Eyes on the Party’s Objectives’.Delegates and observers from PNCR groups throughout North America travelled to Miami to engage in intensive discussions and a “road-mapping” session for the party’s operation in the

diaspora. Many supporters and well-wishers were also invited to participate in a massive cocktail reception and to listen to the feature address by the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Mr Basil Williams, who is also Chairman of the PNCR.

According to a statement from the party, AG Williams used the opportunity to apprise Guyanese in the diaspora of many of the achievements of the almost six-month-old Granger-led administration.

Minister Williams spoke of the challenges the government is saddled with and pledged his government’s commitment to overcoming them.

The highlight of the weekend’s conference was the election of new office bearers to manage the affairs of the North American Region of the PNCR for the next two years. Following are the results of the election:

Chairman – Lawrence (Larry) London
Vice Chairperson – Lurlene Nestor
Secretary – Jennifer Ferriera-Dougall
Treasurer – Joycelyn Thomas-Wilson
CEC Representative – Basil Blackman
Committee Members: – (George Maynard, Errol Lewis, Dawn Simmonds)

On this occasion, 27 Guyanese from various professional backgrounds were each presented with an Instrument of Appointment from the Ministry of the Presidency.

The newly appointed officials were presented with their certificates of appointment by Minister Basil Williams.
