Banks Beer/Inter-Ministries/Corporations Futsal Tournament – Quarter-final action starts tonight!

The tactical and defensive abilities of the16 teams remaining in the Banks Beer/Inter-Ministries/Corporations Futsal Tournament will be seriously tested as the games enter the quarter-final knock out round set to commence tonight at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.Judging from the round robin stage of the tournament, the action promises to be intense, giving fans some exciting brand of football to look forward to over the two nights of action.

Oasis Water and John Fernandez will kick start the evening, followed by the conning Republic Bank squad who would be looking to spring some more surprises when they challenge Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Also lined up is the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) who would be looking to out the fire of the Banks DIH.

In the other matches set for tonight, Customs tackle the Ministry of Agriculture, Transport and Harbour play the Ministry of Infrastructure while the Barbers Association goes head-to-head against New GPC.

The tournament’s winner will pocket $200,000; second place $150.000, third place $100,000 and fourth place $50,000 along with trophies donated by Ramesh trophy stall.

The tournament was made possible by sponsorship from of the Ministry of Tourism, Department of Education, Culture and Sports ,Midtown Café, Mohamed’s Enterprise, New GPC, Insurance brokers, Oasis water, GFF, Banks DIH, PETRA SLEEPIN HOTEL, Hopkinson Mining.

Admission to the games is $500 with a donation going towards the Guyana Cancer institute to help in the fight against cancer.
