THE second Alanzo Greaves `Birth Anniversary’ cycle classic programme will be staged today around the inner circuit of the National Park commencing at 09:00hrs.Several events for various categories of racers will be staged, but the feature event will be a 30-lap race that is expected to attract the best of Guyana’s cyclists, all vying for the top three positions and the 30 prime prizes that are on offer.
The first three finishers will receive $12 000, $10 000 and $8 000 respectively.
However, the winner of each of the 30 laps will pocket $2 000 for each lap won making the total prize package for this event over $90 000.
Among those expected to face the starter today are last year’s winner Raynauth `Obeahman’ Jeffrey, Michael Anthony, Paul DeNobrega, Hamzah Eastman, Andrew Hicks, Geron `The Lone Soldier’ Williams and Marlon `Fishy’ Williams, `Tour of Guyana’ Five-Stage 2015 champion Raul Leal and of course Greaves who celebrated his 26th birth anniversary last September 30.
Greaves promised to make the activity an annual one.
