With 24 points from their 11 matches played so far, Pele FC, led by forward Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson, sit atop the eight-team table and despite already qualifying for the ‘Playoffs’ on November 27, the club would want to continue their dominating performance.
Behind Richardson’s entertaining all-round performance in the League, Pele FC have become the envy of the other clubs and certainly a huge draw in the league.
However, against Slingerz FC, it will be interesting to see how the club would manage this time around against the firepower of the ‘West Side’ club.
Undoubtedly one of the deepest teams in the STAG Elite League, Slingerz FC, on several occasions, have shown why they are one of the favourites to cart off the League Genesis title.
Head-to-head, Slingerz hold the advantage and are a more complete team than Pele FC and it was shown when the two sides’ first meeting ended in a 1-1 draw.
Slingerz FC dominated the game and got a 38th minute goal from Domini Garnett but Pele FC were able to walk away with a draw when Richardson scored in stoppage time (90+2 minute).
While Richardson has shown that he can carry the weight of his side, Slingerz FC will turn to several key players in their star-studded line-up.
Dwain Jacobs, Vurlon Mills, Julian Wade, Dexroy Adams and Joshua Brown will lead Slingerz FC, who will be without their central defender Colin Nelson, who will miss tonight’s game after being red-carded during the club’s 4-2 win over the GDF.

Meanwhile, the GDF/Fruta Conquerors game could potentially be a battle to see who will finish in the number four position and qualify for the playoffs.
In their previous meeting, the two ended their heated contest in a 2-2 draw at the Tucville ground with Eusi Phillips scoring a double (from the penalty spot) and Kwamie LaFleur and Trevon Lythcott netting for Fruta Conquerors.
Only one point separates the two teams with Fruta Conquerors on 15 points in fourth position and GDF fifth on 14 points.
Coached by Calvin Allen, Fruta Conquerors will turn to Eon Alleyne and Jermaine Junor, along with LaFleur to get goals, and Lythcott to guide their usual solid defence.
Phillips and Fraser brothers (Delwin and Delroy) are expected to be their usual selves as coach Denzil Thompson’s troops look to defend their home turf.
