WITH the hosting of the long awaited ‘Guyana Night Big Clash’ just around the corner, fans are all hyped up and raring to go as the event draws ever closer.Slated to represent for the ‘soca genre’ on that very stage, local Soca sensation, Jumo ‘Rubber Waist’ Primo is in frenzied rehearsals as he prepares to unleash one of the most sizzling ‘soca packages’ of his time.
In a recent chit-chit with the entertainer, Primo urged soca revelers to come out in their numbers since he has a host of pleasant surprises in store for them.
Noting that it was very innovative of promoter Mahendra Ramkellawan to bring soca, chutney, and calypso together on one stage, Jumo said such a move will serve to bring people of all ethnicities closer together. And with every intention of making the show super exciting, the Firefest Dancers, Roshini Boodhoo Dance Troupe, the Shalita Dance Troupe, and the Nach Gana Academy of Dance are in feverish rehearsals to present packages that were never before seen.
Word is that they have all successfully tidied their presentations, and are just ready to hit the road. Slated for the Better Hope Community Centre Ground on October 31, this event will also see dazzling performances from Ramkellawan himself, international act Terry Gajraj, and local chutney bard, Rajesh Dubraj.
Carded to perform also are character dancer, ‘Granny Ivelaw’, Young Bill Rogers, the entertaining Charmaine Blackman, Prince JP, Aaron Dasrat, Cecilia Samaroo, and Bunty Singh
The MC, WR Reaz let it be known that even his job as MC will in itself be interesting and even more exciting than any of his former presentations, Patrons can also expect quite a treat from local belly dancer, ‘Sandella’.
