FRUTA Conquerors and the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) played to an exciting 2-2 draw last evening at the GFC ground. It was a well-deserved result for the young GFC team who came from being down 2-0. Fruta Conquerors went ahead nine minutes into the game through Kwamie LaFleur and then Raphael Edwards extended the lead for the Tucville team in the 27th minute.
However, Cortez Kellman’s goal in the 34th minute brought GFC back into the game and Romario Welcome scored four minutes into injury and stoppage time (90+4 minute) to assist in securing a point for his team.
The STAG Elite League will continue tomorrow in Berbice with Fruta Conquerors taking on Slingerz FC and Monedderlust facing Alpha United at the No. 5 ground from 18:00hrs and 20:00hrs, respectively.
