With exactly seven days before the start of the third leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships in Barbados, the father/son team of Kevin and Kristian Jeffrey has braced themselves for a battle of the top cars in the region. The duo, built and tuned by Top Power racing out of Mon Repos have both confirmed confidence in their machines come next week, Kevin saying “I am very confident that we are going to do well. My car had some issues that we got to resolve before we left for Barbados.”

He continued, “When we go over there, we have some little things to do so we hope that we get the car a day before to iron out the kinks. Generally the car left in a healthy state and I’m fairly confident that we are going to be competitive.”

Meanwhile, Kristian, the 2014 Group 4 champion and current point leader in 2015 says, “If we are going against competition like the ‘Focus’ and those guys, we have to bring our A game.”

The younger Jeffrey added, “We know that we were a bit down on power the last race meet and we had limited time to fix that, but we did a few upgrades and if we have time (in Barbados) we will put them on the car. We had a brake problem but we bought new brakes that should take about a couple hours to put on.”

“We’ve been going data like crazy to see where we are lacking power,” Kristian added.

The Jeffrey family will headline the CMRC cars team to Barbados which also includes the firepower of Mark Vieira and Danny Persaud in Group four.

Persaud will also race in the group three (3) class, while Nazim Gafoor is the group two representative.

The superbike will see the Vieira’s (Matthew, Elliot and Stephen) as well as Joel Neblette and Kevin Persaud at the September 13 event at the Bushy Park Raceway in St Philips.
