Remanded on break and enter, larceny charges

OMESH Chaitram, 40, of Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was yesterday remanded to prison by city Magistrate Judy Latchman after he appeared before her charged with break and enter and larceny.Chaitram denied the allegation that read between 16-20 August, at Georgetown, he broke and entered the snackette owned by Nathalie Jared, and stole a gas cylinder valued $13,000, a $3,500 electric mug, and an electronic deep fryer worth $22,000.
Police Prosecutor Keri Boswick did not relate the facts to the court, but strongly objected to Chaitram being released on bail, since the accused did not provide the court with a fixed place of abode.
The prosecution’s objection was upheld and Chaitram was remanded until September 8.
