CRIME Chief Wendell Blanhum yesterday said that the police will certainly get those responsible for the brutal murder of the owner of Jade Stone Chinese Restaurant.

He added that they are doing some work behind the scenes, and it is just a matter of time for a breakthrough, but he refrained from giving away much about the probe.

The well-known city restauranteur, Zhenjz Su, known as “Black Chiney,” was murdered in his home following what appeared to be a well-orchestrated home invasion by a group of men.

His body was found in the kitchen area, with multiple chop wounds, and bound and gagged.

The man’s wife, Fei Su, 32, was severely beaten and even lost some teeth during the ordeal.

It happened at about 03:00 hrs on August 7, 2015 when the armed bandits descended on the couple and demanded money. They eventually took away an undisclosed amount of cash from the Mandela Avenue, Ruimveldt, Georgetown residence.

After the robbers left Fei Su went in search of her husband, whom she found lifeless on the kitchen floor with chop wounds to his head. His feet were tied and his mouth gagged.

Initially, Blanhum had told this newspaper that another suspect was arrested and remains in police custody assisting with the investigation, while two others who were detained were released.

After the homicide, several members of the business community, outraged by the brutality of the crime which claimed the life of their associate, put up a $2M reward.
