THE Mayor and City Council (M&CC) has invited all citizens and stakeholders to a “Green Georgetown” restoration consultation to be held at the National Cultural Centre on Wednesday next at 10:00 hrs. The municipal body is seeking advice and inputs from all stakeholders who share a vested interest in the restoration of the capital city.
The consultancy will see top officials from the Council being on hand to hear the concerns of the public, their interests and possible ideas on
particular issues. The Council’s officers will also answer burning questions from the public and provide information and answers to matters within the purview of the Council.
Town Clerk Royston King said yesterday that the objective of the event is to raise awareness about the plans for Georgetown and its restoration within a green framework. “The general aim,” King pointed out, “Is to encourage all citizens to assist the municipality in its efforts, since the programme includes sharing of ideas, the vision for Georgetown and the dissemination of green economy information and the role citizens play in this regard.”
The town clerk said that all organisations are invited and he looks forward to a good representation from the religious community, corporate community, non-governmental organisations, community groups and citizens.

of Georgetown as the Council returns the capital to its pristine state, to a level comparable to cities in the Caribbean and the rest of the world.
