THE Ministry of Communities has removed all members of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Anna Regina Town Council. According to reports from the council, the letters of revocation of service were issued just after 16:00hrs by an employee of the council.Reports said that the IMC councillors who were installed by former Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Mr. Norman Whittaker under the PPP/C Administration in 2012, were handed the letters that were received through a fax system to tell them that their appointment as councillors of the Interim Management Committee of the Town of Anna Regina will be revoked with effect from Friday, July 24, 2015. The letters were signed by Minister of Communities, Mr. Ronald Bulkan and copied to Mr. Emil McGarrel, Permanent Secretary.
Some councillors said it is another witch-hunting exercise against PPP members. Reports said new councillors of the APNU/AFC coalition will be sworn in today. Prince Holder of Danielstown is expected to be the new Chairman of the town of Anna Regina. (Rajendra Prabhulall in Essequibo)
