The Traffic Department of the Guyana Police Force advises that many roads are water logged, especially in Central Georgetown, which presents a hazardous situation for motorists and other road users to navigate along these roadways at this time.
• Roads affected by flood: Vlissengen Road, Homestretch Avenue, Croal Street, New Garden Street, Oronoque Street, Albert Street, Light Street, Orange Walk, Bourda Street, Alexander Street, Camp Street Wellington Street, Avenue of the Republic, Main Street, Middle Street, Waterloo Street, Carmichael Street, Thomas Street, Barrack Street, Cummings Street, Entire Albertown 1Street to 5TH Streets, Cemetery Road, Hadfield Street West of Vlissingen Road, Ogle Collage Road, Sandiman Place, Halley Street, Hardina Street, Irving Street, Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt and Princess Street.
• The public is encouraged to use the following alternative routes: Robb St, Brickdam Public Road, Norton St, Mandela Avenue, Hadfield Street East of Vlissingen Road, Ruimveldt Public Road, Water Street, Vlissingen Road between Regent and North Road, Lamaha Street, Young Street, Seawall Road, Irving Street and Sheriff Street.
