YESTERDAY, July 11, marked one year since COPA Airlines, the Panamanian flag-carrier, commenced servicing the Guyana market.
The airline operates two flights a week out of Guyana, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

COPA Airlines currently offers one-stop connections to 74 destinations in 30 countries in North, Central, South America and the Caribbean. Additionally, COPA provides 12 options in North America, including Miami, Orlando, New York and New Orleans.
In a media release issued through its public relations consultants, Sagacity Media, the airline stated: “The airline’s entry to the Guyana market has made it possible for passengers to enjoy more options, while providing scope for more business and tourism-related activities to be undertaken. The Guyanese people’s response to the service has been very positive.”
Additionally, Country Sales Manager Nadine Oudkerk, said: “Our first year of operation has been very exciting and successful. This is entirely due to the tremendous, positive support from our passengers, our committed staff who provide a high level of service, our business partners and travel agents. We thank all our allies for making this first year a memorable one and we anticipate making many great strides and accomplishing many great things together, as COPA continues to serve the people of Guyana.
