H&T Theatre Arts Group will be staging “Diplomatic Blow” on June 27 and 28 at the National Cultural Centre. It is a hilarious comedy written and directed by Ronald Hollingsworth – one of Guyana’s most celebrated playwrights.
This production will be co-produced and co-directed by accomplished dramatist/director/ producer Sheron Cadogan-Taylor.
The play features a local Guyanese playboy who meets and develops an inappropriate relationship with an overseas-based diplomat. This relationship provides him with the opportunity to meet and mingle with people of higher social standing, and he soon turns his back upon his friends and his fiancée, whom he had faithfully promised to wed.
Things turn sour, as events would give credence to the idiom “all that glitters is not gold”.
The cast includes Leslyn Bobb- Semple, Mark Kazim, Sean Thompson, Clemencio Goddette, Nirmala Narine, Leza Singh, Paul Budnah and Alana Craigen. The production manager is Mark Luke-Edwards.
This dynamic cast is working assiduously, and is hoping to set the Cultural Centre stage ablaze on those nights. In other words, it is a must-see production.
Tickets will be released shortly, and will be available at the National Cultural Centre.
